CRANBERRY COFFEE CAKE

1 stick margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp baking powder
2 cups flour
1 tsp almond flavoring
1 – 7 oz. can whole cranberry sauce
½ cup chopped nuts
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
½ pint sour cream

Grease and flour tube pan. Cream shortening with sugar. Add eggs and beat. Combine and mix dry ingredients and add to above, alternately with sour cream and flavoring. Place half of batter in pan; put half of cranberry sauce evenly on top. Add the rest of batter and then put rest of cranberry sauce around top. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 55 minutes. Remove from pan after 5 minutes.

Topping: Mix ¾ cup confectionary sugar, 2 Tbsp warm water and ½ tsp almond flavoring. Spread on cooled cake and let it run on sides.
