Guestbook from the Tuck Inn Rockport MA

Welcome to Our Guestbook. We hope you enjoy what prior visitors had to say about their experience on Cape Ann & Rockport, MA, while staying with us at The Tuck Inn B&B!

Prior to our purchase of The Tuck Inn in 1991, whenever we traveled, we always made it a point to read any comments made in an inns’ guest book. We found some comments were absolutely hilarious and others were pretty sobering but many were informative and quite helpful to us during our stay.

Based on those vacations from our pre-innkeeping days, we decided to include individual Guest Books for each of our guest rooms as well. Since then, our guests have become amazingly prolific and creative in their writing abilities, and today most of the rooms are into the 3rd or 4th book per room. We’ve estimated that perhaps a third of our guests have decided to leave a message for us and for all our future guests as well, as today we’ve calculated (we believe very conservatively), that we have now accumulated in excess of 6,000 guest book comments.

Over the years, our visitors have likewise appreciated the comments made regarding Cape Ann or Rockport, MA in our inn’s room books. This electronic guest book is a natural progression of these popular room books. For purposes of this website page, we’ve pared the number of comments included here to around 300. We trust you will find these to be equally as interesting and helpful to you as they have been to us. Enjoy!

Now sit back and have a good read!

A little note from Paris to tell you that we had a wonderful trip on the east coast. What warm welcomes we had everywhere, but yours was the VERY best. Still dreaming of the homey Artist's room, it felt like our own little home. Everything was so clean and cozy. The hospitality was unbeatable. It is obvious how much you love your work and the entire scene in The Tuck Inn reflects that- the clean bedding and rooms, the tasteful, authentic decorations, spacious rooms to relax in, Scott's amazing cooking and the warmth from the ladies! What a crew!! Looking forward to the return. Thank you Scott, Liz, Beth and our Little Margie.

Maggie, 9/2013

Our visit was the best of any B&B we have stayed. Liz and Scott are the perfect hosts and the inn is just fabulous! The breakfasts are amazing! Having vacationed in Rockport as a child, I decided to go back 50 years later to revisit old memories. We made new memories upon which to build in years to come because we will definitely make this inn a yearly destination. The Tuck Inn is so welcoming, and you are made to feel right at home!

Liz and Scott, What a wonderful surprise to come back to our car as we were leaving Rockport to make the long drive back to VA and find a bag full of your delicious breads attached to our car mirror!! Dear Liz & Scott, How many times have we visited with you now? 5 or 6? Each time is like the first time. Always something new & wonderful to discover here. I find it harder to leave you both this time (a bit teary actually). Your inn is more than a place to sleep & eat for us because of you. I feel like I'm leaving friends - and as Scott said over the phone to me when I booked our reservations, "well, we are, aren't we?" Yes we are. God bless you both & your children & their children. Till next time.

Liz and Scott, Thank you for our introduction to "North of Boston". Rockport is a quaint town, Gloucester a busy, busy harbor - we especially enjoyed our Lighthouse Cruise and Whale Watch. The Thacher Island excursion was fabulous, especially meeting a "real" lighthouse keeper's wife! My birthday blueberry muffin with candle "topped" our wonderful breakfasts. Take care.

Thanks for the warm & cozy nest in the middle of a quiet town & its sparkling holiday garb. The Headlands - Marmion walk was fabulous - great smells / sounds / views - the most enjoyable getaway. We came across the Tuck Inn's website when we planned our trip. We had found a lot of bed and breakfast - hotels, inns - we picked the Tuck Inn because the innkeepers seemed nice and they say that they have the best breakfast in town! Indeed!!! They (Scott & Liz) are warm and hospitable!! The breakfast?? The best we've ever had here in the U.S!! The Eagle's Nest - love it! Rockport - relaxing, picturesque. Thanks and keep up the good work! Hope to be back,

Tucked Inn...
You had some room.
so 2 nights we did spend
in the Eagle's nest
I'll now recommend

A space that's cozy
especially the shower
and flooded with sunlight
in the morning hour.

You're good with names
you never seem to forget
who's sleeping over
even thought you've just met.

You helped us see Rockport
eat lobsters and all
the treasures I've collected
are memories big and small.

Health and harmony to you.

Peace. Love, Joy. Can any one place put those things in the mix so perfectly? Apparently so. This place, from its sturdy carpet to its array of history-evoking furnishings is an open invitation to sit, relax, listen to the wind, and let the clock go by. The food wasn't just tasty, it was a series of loving gestures that went deeper than mere hunger can measure. You filled us up. Homes are places of the spirit of light - the spirit of God, and his Son Jesus Christ, are quietly, eminently visible. Because you know and obviously serve Him, He is here. It shows and even the squirrels pattering along the roof speak of His goodness in this place. May the peace in this fine home be a blessing to thousands upon thousands of days to come.

The Longinows, Riverside, CA, 12/2006

Thanks for the warm & cozy nest in the middle of a quiet town & its sparkling holiday garb. The Headlands - Marmion walk was fabulous - great smells / sounds / views - the most enjoyable getaway. This place is a true gem. P. S. So great that you have a guest diary - what an amazing array of people you have hosted! You are so kind.

Janet & Janis, Northampton, MA, 12/2006

We have had a great time here in Rockport, very relaxing after a long trip. We have found the warm welcome and great breakfast here at the Tuck Inn really memorable. I'm so glad we came across your website, we had high hopes and were not disappointed. Thank you...kind regards.

Paula & Carolyn, England, 11/06

Thank you for being a part of a wonderful get-away. The Tuck Inn is perfectly and conveniently located and Liz and Scott are gracious innkeepers. Our room had everything we could possibly need or want and the availability of the computer in the living room made it possible to keep in touch with those left behind. May your rooms always be as full as you wish.

Gloria, Connecticut, 10/2006

We never realized what a B&B could be like with the hospitality and fun that you both so graciously provided for us. We have to return - no doubt about it! Thanks, P.S. The scones, banana bread, jams, Irish bread, apricot bread, etc. etc. Your baking was so great!!

Mimi & Ron, Glen Arbor, MI, 10/2006

Thank you very much for sharing your beautiful home with us. The breakfast was wonderful, your hospitality & warmth will stand out as a "highlight of our week in New England".

Lynda & Maxine, Spokane, WA, 09/2006

We came across the Tuck Inn's website when we planned our trip. We had found a lot of bed and breakfast - hotels, inns - we picked the Tuck Inn because the innkeepers seemed nice and they say that they have the best breakfast in town! Indeed!!! They (Scott & Liz) are warm and hospitable!! The breakfast?? The best we've ever had here in the U.S!! The Eagle's Nest - love it! Rockport - relaxing, picturesque. Thanks and keep up the good work! Hope to be back,

Sten, Mary, Girlie, Denmark, 09/2006

Very nice place to stay. All the amenities of home. Loved the pool in the hot weather. Great breakfast. The rhubarb "sass" reminded us of home. Thanks!

Doug & Cherie, 07/2006

Dear Liz and dear Scott! The Tuck Inn was recommended to us by our neighbor in Germany, The Weitbrecht family, as a special place to experience the warmth and great hospitality of an American B&B. We were overwhelmed ourselves! The "Eagle's Nest" was a warm and cozy retreat from the rain outside. Breakfasts were a tasty delight for the whole family. Thank you for all your kindness - you were terrific hosts and we will recommend you further on to friends in Germany!

Bemd & Ute, Anne & Klaus, Germany, 06/2006

Dear Liz and Scott, Thank you so much for creating such a cozy atmosphere for Susan, Pat and I to relax, chat and enjoy our surroundings. We walked, shopped, ate...and soaked in as much of this lovely town as we were able to during our short stay. Oh - and breakfast - how wonderful! Thank you again, and I look forward to my (our) next visit here and hope "Eagle's Nest" is available.

Pat, Susan, Rosemary, Cromwell, CT, 06/2006

Tucked Inn...
You had some room
so 2 nights we did spend
in the Eagle's nest
I'll now recommend.

A space that's cozy
especially the shower
and flooded with sunlight
in the morning hour.

You're good with names
you never seem to forget
who's sleeping over
even thought you've just met.

You helped us see Rockport
eat lobsters and all
the treasures I've collected
are memories big and small.

Health and harmony to you.

Diane, Peter, Emma, Mona, Brooklyn, NY, 04/2006

Scott & Liz, David & I are so grateful you were able to accommodate our "last second" get-away after a very long & stressful week. What a warm and inviting place - especially at 11:00 p.m. arrival to find the light on. LoGrasso's was fantastic for dinner - I ate every bite! The room was very cozy and quiet. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Thank you for your kindness on my first trip to Rockport.

Dorothy & David, Millis, MA, 01/2006

Quiet Room #5 greeted us warmly when we arrived at 2 a.m. from a long day of travel. Cozy and clean and warm and capturing, Tuck Inn was what these travelers needed. The kind and friendly hospitality was swallowed down along with the fresh muffins and baked goods - although we'll barely meet weight restrictions for our return flight home Thanks so much for just the right experience.

We had a great stay. Really enjoyed the pool!! Very refreshing!! The breakfasts were delicious and really hit the spot. The recommendations for dinner were the best. We found our way to the train, subway & baseball game, all thanks to the great directions. We even won the game. Fenway is quite the place. Thanks for all your great hospitality. Hope to see you again, as Rockport is a place for a definite return visit.

Scott and Liz, What a piece of "heaven" you have here for the weary travelers. An overnight was not enough - we must come back and soon. It is beautiful here - quiet, relaxing and very spiritual. We sure needed this to end our vacation on a beautiful "high". Until we meet again - keep the light on. God bless you.

Scott & Liz, Thanks for the stay here. Our room has a great view of the pool. We went kayaking on the harbor and swimming at Front and Back beaches. Everything is so close! This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast, but it won't be the last!! Breakfast was delicious! Everything was home cooked! Thank you for making our stay memorable and fun. I'll never forget this trip to the Tuck Inn. P.S. The maple walnut scones are to die for. We hope to come back for a visit next year.

Liz & Scott, Thank you so much for making our short vacation extra special. Cape Ann is wonderful - as is the Tuck Inn. The breakfasts were excellent and the room warm and comfortable. Your easy-going friendliness made us feel welcome and relaxed. Thanks also for your suggestions to see Plum Island and Halibut Point - both high points for us! Take care and enjoy your well deserved trip to see your daughter.

We visited Rockport many years ago and it is as charming and delightful as we recalled. Our stay at the Tuck Inn has added a wonderful link to our memory chain and we thank you both for your warm hospitality and yummy breakfasts. It was fun to meet Robin and Rick (other guests) and I'll always remember Scott bringing "Sudoku" games to our table. We hope to see you again someday.

Gail and Jordan, Illinois, 09/2005

Dear Liz, dear Scott, You have made a warm, cozy home for us and for everybody who wants to see Cape Ann - for us from Germany this experience is also one of positive American way of taking life and of conveying it to the others. I wish, everybody could feel this, or better: become that way! In case you travel through Europe, please come and see us in Bavaria. Thank you very much for everything!

Liz & Scott, Rockport, Tuck Inn and you, such gracious people and hosts, have helped us to have a wonderful, peaceful and relaxing get-away. The "Red Room" - so comfortable, accessible, charming - was perfect! Our time has flown - as it will when such a good time is had. Your warmth, kindness and consideration are greatly appreciated. Never have we experienced such a delightful, savory breakfast. Tuck Inn is truly a "Friendship House". Our thanks - a thousand times over.

Fantastic to see you all again. People seem amazed we come back every year. They will never know if they do not come. See you next year, we hope.

Again a wonderful place to begin our 62nd wedding anniversary celebration (6/5/05)! The weather has made every day a celebration for us, enjoying your unfailing hospitality and, after so many visits, the feeling of being in our home away from home, in familiar and welcoming surroundings.

Jane & Carroll, 06/2005

Dear Liz & Scott, After all these years, Rockport, is still beautiful. We really enjoyed the Tuck Inn, especially since the Red Sox won again! We will come back again with family from "unpinned" countries!

George & Kathy, 05/2005

Dear Liz & Scott, It's hard to begin to know how to thank you for such a wonderful stay at the Tuck Inn. The delightful breakfasts of breads, cakes, fruits, juice and hot coffee and Scott's New England sense of humor are an unequalled way to start each day! The hospitality shown by you two is more than anyone could expect. We thank you for opening your home to us, for your assistance in our wedding plans, and most of all, for being the "friends" who shared our special day with us. We will always hold the memories of you and the Tuck Inn in a very special spot in our hearts. Thank you again for such a wonderful week that will always be cherished! Love,

We needed a break from the world, from the hectic pace our lives are now. A breather, a chance to reconnect. Coming here proved so much more. Relaxing, energizing and so welcoming! I felt as though I was being caressed by loving family. Can't wait for next year and 3 nights!

Ed & Michelle, West Springfield, MA 01/2005

We've sure started the year right - by coming back here. Whatever "it" is, you've got it! From the delicious smells and tastes to the readiness to help - without being intrusive. We wouldn't dream of staying anyplace else in Rockport. Only wish we'd been around to witness Scott's dance debut with (Alice & "Wildest Dreams".) Happy New Year to All!

Dear Scott and Liz, We really enjoyed our stay with you at the Tuck Inn (again)! Your hospitality was top notch! The rooms are beautifully decorated, the beds were firm and comfortable, and your inn is classic "old New England". This is a warm and friendly place. We will continue to recommend the Tuck Inn to our family and friends here and in GA. It was great seeing you and catching up on family news. It was a pleasure to talk with Christopher, too. He is a fine young man. Best regards and God bless,

I am not a B&B fan. Most I have experienced have confused "old" & "antique", "clean" and "lived in" and "poorly maintained" with "eclectic". Thank you for changing it all and doing it right. This is truly the best of experiences I have had. Liz & Scott are true innkeepers who deserve the accolades they have received, for this is the standard that other B&B's as well as hotels should attempt to live up to. With nearly 20 weeks on the road this year, I can tell you most do not. Even the "grand" chains should stop by and see how it should be done. Thanks!

in Rockport, MA
soothes soul and mind,
and then...alas!
I find that quiet place down deep -
Only visited at home in sleep.
Tuck's Inn is dream-like,
peaceful, kind
A cozy house
Built back in time.
Home baked breakfasts
greet guests at morn -
Served on tables
set and adorn
with caring and grace,
fine china and lace.
More caring folks
You'll never meet
Liz & Scott made our stay complete.
So until next time, I'll be yearning, for the peaceful Woods; keep the lamp light burning!

What a wonderful visit (although too short!) We have stayed in many B&B's, but this one goes to the top of our list - the hospitality, the delicious breakfast, the most immaculate room we have ever stayed in, and the pool (Erica, age 8) and Ellie, age 4) favorite! It was also fun meeting your granddaughter, Cora Grace - congratulations, she is beautiful! Thank you for accommodating our family - it is wonderful to have children and still get to enjoy a B&B. The restaurant recommendations were perfect - we loved Ellen's Harborside and the Greenery. Also enjoyed the Sunday night band concert, Halibut State Park and Front Beach. Also enjoyed walking out to the Headlands. Rockport is a very special place, and your inn makes it even more so!

Thank you Liz & Scott for making our stay so memorable. We have never had such delicious, unusual breakfasts. We will all need to diet when we get home! Rockport is a beautiful place and the people are so polite and friendly. As an added bonus, our trip on a whale watching boat made front page of the local newspaper, as we were lucky enough to see the enormous Blue Whale, apparently rarely seen in these waters. All in all, a memorable holiday and one I would like to repeat.

June, 07/2001

Dear Liz & Scott, Henry and I have had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at the lovely Tuck Inn. You live in a beautiful town and that along with your excellent hospitality has made our stay here most memorable.

Jenny & Henry, Scotland, U.K., 07/2001

Dear Marge & Wendy, Thank you both for helping to make our 20th anniversary "vacance" such a pleasant respite from our usually stressed lives. The Tuck Inn and the peaceful village of Rockport will be a place to return to again & again (hopefully with our two sons)! Your breakfasts were beyond our expectations...and the abundant and strong coffee started our days with big smiles (and open eyes)! Merci Beaucoups!

Marian & Tony, New Fairfield, CT, 07/2001

Another special week!!! Liz & Scott - you say this is "still fun" for you - it shows and makes this such a "renewing" place for your guests. I thank you for that.

Karyl, 06/2001

Liz & Scott, Thanks for a peaceful place to celebrate our anniversary. You were right: "My Place" was a wonderful restaurant. And a warning to others: pace yourself at breakfast. Scott keeps coming out with new kinds of warm breads! This room was just what we needed. Thank you.

Anne & Larry, 06/2001

I wish that we had known of this place as we planned our trip. When I hear about that "sleepy, little fishing village", I will always think of Rockport. It's beautiful here...and thank you for your hospitality. It was a joy staying with you.

Russel, Janice & Ryan, Athens, GA, 05/2001

Scott and Liz, We came to Rockport for rest and relaxation. The Tuck Inn was exactly what we needed. The hospitality was great. The breakfast superb and Room 5 will hold a very special place in our hearts. For this was the place Isaac proposed. What more could I ask for? Thank you for greeting us each day with your warm smiles. See you next year!

Sonia & Isaac, Taunton, MA, 05/2001

We enjoyed immensely our brief stay with you in your warm home and lovely town. I admire the beautiful quilt on the bed and Scott - your scones are the greatest! We're looking forward to a return visit.

Char and Larry, Rochester, NY, 05/2001

We were told Rockport was beautiful, but what an understatement that was! The town and the area are indeed lovely, and the Tuck Inn a delightful refuge within. Thank you for the restful aerie and the friendly home to share.

The Heicks, honeymooning from VA, 05/2001

We loved our Rockport "fix" in midwinter. What a lovely room! Thanks!

Sally & Tom, 02/2001

To Liz and Scott, This is the 1st entry of 2001. Well, we just wanted to say thank you for your generous hospitality. You were very helpful with showing us around and telling us where we could find what we needed! We still both remember this day as a time where we just got away from the busy city lifestyle and stayed in a nice quiet comfortable town. Thank you. God bless and good luck!

I can't believe our week is up. Our stay with you is always pleasant and your warmth is so appreciated - we feel like family - the year is not over - we'll be back soon. Scott's generosity and gift of his delicious baked bread was applauded by all our painting class students. Thanks again.

Sonia and Haig, 07/2000

Dear Scott & Liz, It's nice and comforting to know that there are still places like Rockport and the Tuck Inn that people can go to and just relax. We had a lovely time exploring your village, (and 3 lobster meals in 2 days wasn't bad either). Thanks and good health.

Joe & Ro, NY, 07/2000

A wonderful place is the Tuck
When you stay here, you're really in luck
For the treatment is royal
All their guests they do spoil
Whether humble or high mucky-muck!

A short but memorable visit - thank you!

Dear Liz & Scott, thank you for the warm welcome - we came to find some Christmas Spirit and certainly did! Our trips have become a tradition and we always count on a lovely stay here at the Eagles Nest! Thank you for all you do and have a wonderful & healthy Christmas. God Bless! P. S. Hope you found the perfect tree today!

Martha, Kathy & Jenny, 12/2000

Dear Liz & Scott, This time was like coming back home after a long absence. Nothing has changed and mostly your welcome was as warm as ever. We will be back and introduce someone else to the quality of this place. It is something that stays in ones mind forever. Take care and God bless!

Harriett, Quebec, 10/2000

Dear Liz & Scott, Coming back to your B&B is like visiting good friends - always a special pleasure! Thanks again for your great hospitality. We brought our moms this time & they loved their trip. Halloween in Salem is something to see and the train ride was fun. We hope to see you again soon - maybe with our husbands!!!

Michele, Quebec, 10/2000

Liz & Scott, Jim and I not only enjoyed our 4 days visit, but found the breakfasts superb, your hospitality positively refreshing and the recommendations for tours, restaurants and places to visit outstanding. Thanks for sharing your homes and your lifestyle with two folks who really needed this respite. Hope to visit again soon.

Dear Liz, Scott, family & staff, Thank you so much for another wonderful time at the Tuck Inn. We won't rest until we've stayed in every one of the rooms! We always enjoy our stay with you. Your grace & hospitality are unequaled. Scott's cream of tartar biscuits were the best, so far. The kids will long remember the whale watch, Tarot readings & the long walks around beautiful Rockport.

Cal, Karen, Adam, & Melanie, Ohio, 07/2000

One night was not enough! On our return, we'll definitely be staying at your inn again!

Jenn & Michele, 06/2000

Dear Liz & Scott, Two all-to-short days but, oh, what delightful days...some of the more pleasant memories we'll take home! First and foremost, your gracious welcome; you both possess the ability to make guests feel like family. The sitting room, with warmth from the fireplace on a chilly May evening, the fresh fruit at breakfast with such a delicious selection of breads, choices of cereal, "Tropicana" (yea!), fresh coffee, friendly "table-mates", crisp clean room, a roomy, clean bathroom with enough hot water for a long shower, and so and so on. Rockport has always had its charm, but the two of you have added 2 important things...your warmth and personality. Thanks so very much.

Bonnie and Linda, 05/2000

Liz & Scott, This was our first time to a B&B and to Rockport. This town is beautiful! Chris & I were given this trip ("weekend getaway") as a gift from a good friend. This was a much needed rest from school & work! I only wish we had been able to wake up early enough to try your breakfast...next time! I guess we just needed to sleep in. We hope to visit again soon when the weather is warmer, to try out that beautiful pool! Thank you...until next time...

Antoinette & Chris, RI, 05/2000

Liz & Scott, Thank you first and foremost for the wonderful hospitality. We felt extremely comfortable from the moment we arrived. I even had a dream where I thought I was sleeping in my bed back home. The accommodations and the breakfasts were great. Thanks, Scott, for keeping the coffee coming! The sights you pointed out to us in Rockport were beautiful. I hope you continue to appreciate this area and location as much as we now do. Everywhere we went was like picking up a different postcard. Thank you again for making our end-of-vacation stay so relaxing.

Thank you for a wonderful night's stay. Although no one saw much of us, we were very comfortable and very happy to be here. You've obviously found your calling and it's refreshing, as Jerry & I search for our own happiness and place in life together. Thank you for being another step towards our dreams! Best wishes,

Once again the Tuck Inn was our home away from home (but even better since we don't have to do the cooking)! Our June '95 weekend saw rainy weather, but this early fall 3-day get-away blessed us with azure blue skies, warm air, and tranquil seas. Add the near perfect weather to the charm of our suite and the delicious "plentitude" of the Tuck Inn breakfasts - it couldn't have been a lovelier weekend. Liz and Scott - you have an unpretentious and genuine manner when dealing with your guests. It's refreshing to stay at a cozy, homey, non-fussy B&B run by warm and sincere innkeepers. Please don't change. Back again...when?

As we sit here on these lovely old chairs in this quaint reading alcove, we reflect on the pleasant walk we took around the south side of the harbor leading along the coast. Our journey took us through a lovely neighborhood with glimpses of lighthouses sparkling in the late afternoon sunshine. We shall always remember the road less trodden, thanks to Jack and our friendly innkeeper, Scott.

Liz & Scott, Thanks so much for your hospitality over the past four days. Rockport was a wonderful selection for our first vacation in four years. Your guidance in restaurants, shops and beaches was invaluable. Going to the private beach by the Headlands instead of the public beach was a great call, less crowded plus the walk was fantastic. I would strongly suggest to anyone who got up early enough, to watch the sun rise over the Atlantic. It was well worth the effort. Once again, thanks!

Dear Scott & Liz, We enjoyed our much needed respite from work and parenting. Thanks for the tips on biking - the route along the coast to Gloucester was beautiful. We felt as though Rockport was a little island, far from civilization - guess that means we truly relaxed.

Eagles' Rest!
On the most beautiful
Of spring days,
The air was so sweet,
We came to Gloucester
To see our granddaughters.
What a treat
To play in the sandbox,
Swing on the swing,
Throw balsa wood gliders,
Do everything
That grandparents
Do best,
Then back to the Tuck Inn -
For much needed rest!!

Dearest Liz and Scott, Once again coming to your lovely inn has been the much needed respite that only you two can provide. The feeling of home that you offer to us (and all your guests) is just the uplift that we needed. All your hospitality and kindness will be long remembered and we will look forward to our fourth visit whenever possible. You would certainly be welcome in our "inn" - especially if Scott would fix the breakfast. Yummy!! Very fondly,

Well, guess what? We have to agree with it all. This was a great way to spend our 20th anniversary. Thank you!

To Liz and Scott, It is like leaving old friends to say goodbye today. When we received your excellent looking brochure at the information center, we thought "too good to be true". Even the brochure doesn't do the Tuck Inn and the two of you justice. How do you describe the warmth of your hospitality to all your guests? The beds are more comfortable than ours at home! The room (#6) was spotless and very comfortable, anticipating our needs. Thanks again. P.S. Your breakfasts exceeded all our expectations.

Anne and John, 07/1996

Dear Liz & Scott: This was our first time in a B&B - what a pleasant experience. Too bad it was only for one night! Your food - yumm - couldn't be better. Your hospitality - superb. We hope to be back for a longer stay.

The Taylors, 07/1996

Thank you for making us feel so welcome! We thought English breakfasts were good until we came here! What a treat!

Lisa and Sarah, 06/1996

To Liz and Scott, It is like leaving old friends to say goodbye today. When we received your excellent looking brochure at the information center, we thought "too good to be true". Even the brochure doesn't do the Tuck Inn and the two of you justice. How do you describe the warmth of your hospitality to all your guests? The beds are more comfortable than ours at home! The room (#6) was spotless and very comfortable, anticipating our needs. Thanks again. P.S. Your breakfasts exceeded all our expectations.

Robbie and Jurg, 05/1996

Dear Liz & Scott, Many thanks for an enjoyable & relaxing weekend. We found Room 5 to be just like home - comfortable & peaceful. This visit is thanks in part to our 2 sons and daughter-in-law who gave us a gift certificate for our 30th anniversary. They made a great choice & we'll definitely be back. P.S. Does Scott hire out for breakfast? Super!!

Nelson & Kerry, Booklyn, CT, 05/1996

Your inn is lovely. We are quite lucky to have happened upon it. Thank you. The Wongs will spread the word in Hong Kong as we will in NYC.

Dear Liz & Scott, Thank you for a wonderful time. We enjoyed spending our 10th anniversary here. Christmas in Rockport festivities were so home-town. Breakfast was delicious. Thanks for a most enjoyable time!

Laurie & Dave, North Andover, MA, 12/1995

Clean, comfortable rooms, very gracious host and hostess, sumptuous breakfast buffet - what more could one ask for except BETTER WEATHER!? We are certain that had it been under the realm of possibility, Liz & Scott would have made that as nice as could be, too. The Tuck Inn is quiet, cozy, unpretentious, and very homey - a delightful place to spend several days to "unwind". We have been made to feel welcome here. Thank you for a lovely stay! We'll be back...about the weather next time...

Debbie, Dublin, NH, 06/1995

Our stay was great. It was great not having to share a room with mom & dad. The breakfast was very filling. Thanks!

Scott & Liz, You are both cut out for this type of business. Everything was lovely and your kind hospitality was appreciated. We won't forget the wonderful baked goods.

Tony & Donna, Oak Ridge, NJ, 10/1995

This was our first time in an American B&B and we really enjoyed it. Thanks for all your hospitality, you made us feel so welcome - I just wish I could bake as well as Scott!! Our best wishes to you all.

Greg & Viv, Amstelveen, Holland, 10/1995

Scott, Liz, Laura, Chris & Catherine, Another wonderful stay in Rockport and at the inn (our home from home). Thanks again for making us feel so welcome and like part of your family. The "kids" go on so well together. We'll miss you very much, but will see you again - that's a threat/promise (you choose the option)!!

The Groombridges, Kent, England, 09/1995

Our walk along Marmion Way will long be remembered. The view of the lighthouses from Eden Road is spectacular. The dining at the Seaward just magnificent. Our stay was just too short! Hope to see you again! Thanks for everything.

Paul, Emerson, NJ, 08/1995

Dear Liz & Scott, Having never been to your inn before, we had our doubts. We're happy to say, though, that we had a wonderful stay and, with your help, we were able to make the most of our short stay in Rockport. The walk along "Gardens Way" was worth every step & the view from Halibut Point - breathtaking. Our trip was made to help us celebrate our birthdays as well as our 3rd anniversary. It will truly be a memorable one. We'll gladly recommend the Tuck Inn to all. Thanks again.

Laura & Dean, Schenectady, NY, 07/1995

We had a very enjoyable stay, thank you. Our morning spent whale-watching will be one of the most memorable experiences of our stay in New England.

Pat & Paul, Durham, England, 07/1995

Our 4th visit to the inn and every year we wish we could stay longer. The children are lobbying for 3 weeks next year, as well as a return in August! Many thanks again. With every expectation of seeing you all again very soon.

Claire, Bruce, Alexis & Isabel, Maryland, 07/1995

And for us, the weather could not have been more perfect - what a difference a day or two makes. The sights and sounds and experiences of the Rockport area - beach walks, tiny quaint shops, whale watch, a day at the beach, dinner in and dinner out and dinner out the back, sunsets - had no interference. And through our 4 days was the continuity of the Tuck Inn and our 2-bedroom suite and large deck overlooking the pool. It was a getaway when we wanted or needed it to be so, but more so it was a hospitable thread of friendliness, help and advice, bid-bit sharing that wove through our 4 days here. We felt so comfortable here, and so did our 2 teenagers - and that speaks loudly. The breakfasts each morning were delicious and delightful, and the welcoming greetings each time you saw us made us even more happy to be here. Thank you!

Maria & Gillies, Scotland, 03/1995

Liz & Scott, Beasley & I have traveled across the country & have lived on both coasts, but our stay at your B&B has been one of our most memorable experiences. The room was comfortable and immaculate, your home was very welcoming & we looked forward to breakfast each morning (especially the granola)!! Thank you for making our stay so satisfying. We hope to see you again this summer! Take care.

Sheri, Allston, MA, 04/1995

Thank you Liz and Scott, we had a wonderful time. Pat and I have some fine memories to take back with us. You have a great place...I'll send you some business.

Ben, 04/1995

Dear Scott and Liz, What a cozy, warm place you have here! We haven't stayed in a bed and breakfast for quite awhile...it was a true delight! The atmosphere, your hospitality - everything was perfect! We enjoyed reading "The Book of Virtues" by the fire. Good luck to you and your family. We'll be back.

Noelle from Cleveland & Tobin from CA, 03/1995

What a wonderful B&B! You made our stay completely comfortable, and we leave relaxed and with fond memories. We wish you happiness and success as "the season" approaches.

Dear Liz & Scott and family: What a wonderful weekend retreat this was! The little suite and sun-soaked deck was wonderful - it was really hard to go home. Rockport is always a joy for us - wonderful people, lovely scenery and great food - all good for the soul! Your hospitality and service was wonderful and we look forward to returning very soon ! Dear Scott, Liz and the rest of the fam- All your suggestions were great (save "Roys", nobody told us that lobsters have green guts). (hehe). We have had a prodigious week (great word, huh?) (We've played way too much Scrabble this week.) Cap'n Bill's whale watch was tons o'fun, literally. Boston, nifty - cool beans - we liked Newberry Street and the ever so cultural Museum of Fine Arts. Throughout all of our town-hopping however, Rockport (and especially the Tuck Inn) were really the "bees knees" (that means gold medal type). Thanks for the Halibut Point suggestion - by far the most satisfying coastline experience. Breakfast was 5 STARS and your pool, refreshing. We appreciate your hospitality and kindness, you made us feel right at home. Rockport is a great place and we hope to be back someday. God Bless.

To the Wood family,
Thanks so much for a wonderful couple of days - your warmth and hospitality.
To Scott - may you continue to keep the oven busy!
To Liz - may you keep the washer & dryer busy (and take care of all your other chores).
To Laura - enjoy your trip to France; and be sure to listen to "your song" (your mother has it on record).
To Chris - keep at your soccer (learn to practice with a square ball - tricky bounces).
To Catherine - keep at the piano (ask your teacher to find you a piano with 89 keys).
Finally,
May the Lord bless you and help you - may He make his face to shine upon you - may He surround you with His presence - and give you all His perfect peace.

In God's love,

Dear Ones, After 6 hours of art instruction, from Helen Van Wyk in her most interesting studio and gallery, it was so restful to come home to our tree house and dream about the goodies we would have for breakfast. With its country living, Early American atmosphere, we felt we had been taken back to "the good old days". We were safe with open windows and fresh air and even unlocked doors in the afternoon quiet rest time. Thank you so much.

Scott and Liz, We appreciate your welcome to our family! From the 60's music, puzzles for the kids, friendly conversation, "tips for travel", hospitality and great baked goods - to the quiet and peaceful, comfortable and clean surroundings - it was a delight (even if a short one)! We'll send you the cheesecake recipe. Hope to be back soon...

The pool's a sparkling attraction, it's true,
But a "getaway" place must have character, too.
And here at the "new" old Tuck Inn
the atmosphere's great from without & within.
The rooms are cozy, clean and bright
The décor is simple - a real delight.
And the porches and landscaping add charm & grace
to this quality Rockport get-away place.
Then there are the hosts, Liz & Scott
whom one can't help but like & admire a lot.
For their warm hospitality comes shining through to you
from the time you arrive...till your visit is through.
They're friendly folk, gentle, helpful and kind
(so different from the townsfolk we leave behind)
and their children, too, were a pleasure to meet...
so eager to please, friendly, smiling and sweet.
Now let's not forget the very best treat
you get to experience at 17 High Street...
It's the very best breads, cakes & scones you'll ever eat
For Scott is a "baker man" you just can't beat!
Because Scott & Liz really care as they serve
We wish them all the success they truly deserve.
