We bid you ADIEU - As We’re Moving On To Our Next Chapter…………..

Thirty years ago this month, we stumbled upon this ramshackle & foreclosed inn which was lingering on the market. Nine months later, after intensive repairs & renovations, we jumped headlong into our new career as innkeepers. While we committed more than a few “newbie” mistakes over the first few years, we soon conquered the mountainous workload and turned the Tuck Inn into a successful and enjoyable family business.

What a privilege it has been to be stewards of this 1790 building that has housed thousands of travelers for over 70 years, and what stories and memories these rooms have created. Scott misses baking his morning assortment of goodies, but the thing we miss the most is the breakfast “buzz” – the sharing of stories, the travel hints, aromas, recipe sharing and the carefree ease of a get-away shared by all. We never considered what we did as a job!

Fast forward to the disastrous 2020 season though where the fall-out from the virus has edged us into deciding to throw in the towel and hang up the apron.

With that said, we have since sold our smaller building this spring and are planning to convert the main inn back to its original use as a single family home this fall, with the intent of remaining in place.

Although we will no longer be open there still remains a number of fine inns throughout town which you can research at: www.innsofrockport.com

We thank you all for your friendship and years of patronage, and we look forward to bumping into a good many of you as we & you stroll about the village in the years to come.

Thanks For The Memories…………….

Sincerely, Liz and Scott Wood
